“Labor had spent around $6.5 billion on the NBN when the Coalition took power in 2013, with the government since splashing more than $44 billion of taxpayer funds to create what experts have described as an “obsolete” and “third-world” broadband network.” Arrogant f**king lnp.

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“Mr Mullen claimed that the NBN’s high wholesale pricing would force resellers to “withdraw or go broke”, with consumers ultimately losing out. “The downside of this in turn will be fewer service providers and ultimately higher broadband prices to the consumer,” Mr Mullen said.”

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“However, Internet Australia chair Paul Brooks slammed the report as “self-serving” & “disingenuous”. “Clearly [the NBN Co] have an image problem they’re trying to repair, and that image problem is justified,” Dr Brooks said. Speedtest ranks Australia 61st for broadband speed”

“By next year, the NBN Co has promised to have 8.1 million homes and businesses using the service, with a further 11.7 million ready to connect. However, experts have warned the NBN’s speed and reliability issues will only worsen as more households and businesses connect.”

@platykitten We're already paying for a substandard service. Let NBN pay the fkn tax

@PaulFletcherMP I can’t get any mobile reception at my home in Bradfield. My NBN is slow and keeps getting cut for works. Cannot get free to air tv. But sure you go for a run.

  • Optus Optus (@Optus) reported

@plastictree123 I can confirm, NBN are already aware of this and their technicians are working to fix it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there is no time frame for resolution at the moment. Apologies for the inconvenience. Kartik

  • knackers63 knackers63 (@knackers63) reported

@Bowenchris Did Rudd and Conroy give you that idea? NBN V2.0 that will also need to be watered down. Scary that a sitting member of parliament cannot fathom that Australia is different to Europe

  • CraigMoffitt1 Craig Moffitt (@CraigMoffitt1) reported

@strangerous10 The twitter soap scum starts up again. Can’t wait for Labor to get in and see how better off u will be. The costs to ordinary Aussies to support Labor policies ie for NBN, Medicare, NDIS etc is astronomical. Go lefty go broke

  • Koahaok Koah (@Koahaok) reported

@Loli_Jones @Bowenchris What an inane comment! They can walk and chew gum…it isn’t one at the expense of the other. It’s going to take decades to fix the mess the LNP have created (e.g NBN), but Labor is the only one who can do it (hopefully with the help of some good independents).

  • KylieWoods3 Kylie Woods (@KylieWoods3) reported

@DoctorKarl I have had a big cry tonight, FTTN just sucks. Another NBN call cancelled as they tell my ISP it is all fine. It took me 2 years to get them here only 1.5 weeks ago, they found corroded line, did some repairs, still bad. I have paid someone to check everything is fine our end.

  • ShereeSF1 ShereeSF (@ShereeSF1) reported

@andrewbogut Not government!! Never forget this is taxpayers money. What happens when house prices drop. Who is on the hook for that? Taxpayers again! No thanks. This is press release policy. Remember Conroy of red underpants fame, designing the NBN white elephant on the back of a napkin.

  • philotim0 Nacho (@philotim0) reported

@AlboMP Atlassian would have been an Australian success story, Howard Government pushed it off shore. NBN would have been an Australian success story, Abbott Government killed it with FttN. Our IT sector is a shambles “lead” by clueless lawyers and accountants. Let’s fix that?

  • glenniclem glenda clementson (@glenniclem) reported

Gosh @ScottMorrisonMP coming out with all these promises now parental control of digital media? That’s been around forever if your clever! What about his cost cutting NBN rollout replacing fibre from node to house? Never happened!

  • Optus Optus (@Optus) reported
