“However, Internet Australia chair Paul Brooks slammed the report as “self-serving” & “disingenuous”. “Clearly [the NBN Co] have an image problem they’re trying to repair, and that image problem is justified,” Dr Brooks said. Speedtest ranks Australia 61st for broadband speed”

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“Labor had spent around $6.5 billion on the NBN when the Coalition took power in 2013, with the government since splashing more than $44 billion of taxpayer funds to create what experts have described as an “obsolete” and “third-world” broadband network.” Arrogant f**king lnp.

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“By next year, the NBN Co has promised to have 8.1 million homes and businesses using the service, with a further 11.7 million ready to connect. However, experts have warned the NBN’s speed and reliability issues will only worsen as more households and businesses connect.”

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“The staggering sum was highlighted by the nation’s peak body for phone and internet users on Wednesday, in a response to the consumer watchdog’s NBN Wholesale Service Standards Inquiry draft decision.”

“Mr Mullen claimed that the NBN’s high wholesale pricing would force resellers to “withdraw or go broke”, with consumers ultimately losing out. “The downside of this in turn will be fewer service providers and ultimately higher broadband prices to the consumer,” Mr Mullen said.”

@AlboMP Government does not fix anything, NBN? Really? Sell the bloody thing and deregulate the telecommunications market to allow equal competition. There, fixed it for you ALBO!!

  • johnny_doe2010 Johnny Doe 🔻 (@johnny_doe2010) reported

@AaronDodd The work that Labor's NBN had to do was all in preparation for the network, taking over exchanges and outfitting them, before customers could be connected to it. This 'Labor only connected x subscribers' bullshit was old in 2014.

  • mikolbin mikolbin (@mikolbin) reported

@PaulFletcherMP What a crock! From all accounts I’ve read, the NBN is incredibly slow and ranks extremely poorly internationally. Australia is a total backwater in this regard. And I live 55kms from the centre of Australia’s capital and CAN’T GET THE NBN. So get stuffed!

  • colintucker Colin Tucker (@colintucker) reported

@PaulFletcherMP The truth of the matter is: the Labor NBN was an emergent threat to Murdoch's empire, and it was destroyed by Abbott and Turnbull. We could have had a world-class fibre network with lower ongoing costs and a lifespan of 100 years, but the LNP imploded it, for selfish reasons.

  • bozwhite Boz (@bozwhite) reported

@DeanRosario NBN what's that, passed it over for 5g home broadband. Last straw was NBN assigning Saturday installation. Knowing that I am never available Saturdays due to Powerchair football scoreboard commitments. I rang up and said cancel to NBN. Their response computer is down ring later

  • Christo01846883 Christopher Lange (@Christo01846883) reported

@PaulFletcherMP I hope labor get in, fix the NBN and then send the bill to your boss at the IPA. Rupert Murdoch.

  • cnresearch 〰Stefan Gigacz (@cnresearch) reported

@PaulFletcherMP My LNP NBN service is no better than what I had before. What did you spend the money on?

  • marblewraith Matthew Rath (@marblewraith) reported

@anniecmars @AlboMP NBN may be govnt owned, but it's still a business. You need to prove viability / ROI. Number of Accounts in an Area x $Z per month vs Amount needed to install proper service.

  • RoseJoh24537533 Rose Johnson (@RoseJoh24537533) reported

@7NewsMelbourne @AustralianLabor Yea right for a slow nbn, you have to pay extra to get upgrade...

  • BradSteph1984 Bradley Stephenson (@BradSteph1984) reported

@PaulFletcherMP So what your saying is under the LNP you just slapped some copper wires together, little bit of fibre and hey presto, a **** not for purpose national internet! Lucky if you get decent speeds and we are spending more to lay out more fibre! Joke NBN, thanks LNP!
