  @pigways @Batman2242 What? Fttn was cheap to install but severely limits revenue and has a massive maintenance costs which means it can never make a return on the investment. It's why #nbn convinced LNP to provide additional funding and begin the free upgrade to fttp.

  @GregNordo @AllBiteNoBark88 I just had another go with Optus. Literally no internet during peak hrs. Their NBN is unbelievably bad, even my business plan was dropping out 20 times a day. Aldi it is.....

  @basespanker @Batman2242 That was a fttn upgrade with Telco support, but libs called it fraudband due to the minor upgrade so it got scrapped and years later the #nbn was formed to rollout fibre to 93% of premises. LNP got in and decided to do fraudband

  @Johnuh9d @AvidCommentator The NBN is expensive crap. The NDIS has turned into a complete rort. The GFC was an American housing crisis that had very little to to do with us. The pandemic was an over reaction. They've blown the lot. Money wasted with zero return on investment. Both parties are responsible for this mess and all I see for the future is higher unemployment and a low currency. It's going to be a double whammy. We are already in a per capita recession. The country needs some serious reform and it needs it right now..

  Just had the Indian "tradie" experience. Our ISP offered free connection to the NBN fibre network so they sent out the installer. Long story short, I rejected his ludicrous proposal to destroy my concrete slab driveway so they could run the shortest cheapest route of cables.

  @NBN_Australia when are you going to fix internet connectivity in St Ives. At least two weeks of regular dropouts and slow service and it just keeps getting worse

  @ShaneOliverAMP A big part of the problem is that starting from the 2010's more of our spending now goes to megatech platforms that extract Australian revenue without the old local multiplier. When $100 went to Ford or Holden, a retailer or a local media company, a large portion recycled through local wages, suppliers, property, logistics and tax. Now when $100 goes to a global ad platform, streaming service or cloud provider much more can disappear offshore through IP, reseller fees and related party charges with far less local employment or supplier spend despite the use of infrastructure like NBN and roads. So government keeps importing demand and taxing workers harder to fund services while more private spending leaks offshore to low local footprint platforms. That extraction is not productive for our economy and is increasingly an issue, especially when profits are being offshored and Australian taxpayers are unfairly carrying the burden.

  @realRick_AUS Out in rural NSW, the max I could get was 50Mbps. And it took 3 months and a really good tech - (who got silenced) to tell me that they had a broken cable on my run and they needed to rerun the cables for about 50 feet. 7 visits I think I have 3 months with nothing before that! And every time it rained, I lost connection for hours I was the middle of the work day. Aussie Broadband were the only ones who kept me sane - NBN itself was (and is) rubbish, but Aussie was amazing.

  @FannyFitch Maybe they need to go back to the fail-safe future, using Labors' Full Fibre NBN, that Vested Interests installed the LNP Crime Org Puppet Junta to nobble with stone age Copper. It operated well, for over 65 years, even on iron age Copper, before being sent into the cloud.
