  @stnapAtnaf @DifficultNerd It’s actually hilarious to see media reports of the NBN struggling. Remote learning/video/working, video streaming, etc, etc is exactly why a proper next-gen network should have been built.

  @DifficultNerd @stnapAtnaf Sadly not the case. NBN have confirmed with me that we will never get 50 Mbps due to the distance we are away from the first node. They also didn’t replace the aging copper on the main street and line faults is a regular thing to happen.

  What disgraceful service @Telstra. Been in new house for more than 2 weeks. Only 4 days of NBN working. Told they would be here on Saturday between 8am and 12pm. Waited all day and then called Telstra to be told NBN will be back on Wednesday. Disgraceful.

  Superloop is the 3rd RSP. Let's see if I can get more details out of them tomorrow on what path/route of the FTTN is a problem. NBN co seriously can't manage a raffle in a pub.

  All I want from an RSP is suitable communication on why the service cannot be connected, and the timeframe in which the condition stopping it from being connected resolved. How hard is it to get decent feedback from the NBN co processes.

  @ianclarkeAU With today's technology, the NBN simply cannot compete with a wireless network like @Starlink, and that is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future... #Starlink has a LOT of advantages; completely replacing fixed networks is not one of them and won't be anytime soon.

  @ArtistAffame That's not bad. The only option I have where I am is Fixed Wireless. Essentially 4G/5G cell tower and fixed "antenna" on the roof. NBN service via iinet (TPG). Given the distance from the tower I only get a portion of the theoretical maximum throughput. Costs more than your plan.

  Ordered a new fibre connection on Sunday, a tech came and installed FTTP on Wednesday, and it cost $0. NBN gets a lot of flack but it's very hard to complain about this level of service!
