Summary: we almost-delivered an obsolete network not fit for purpose and now we're struggling with finding a way to make it valuable as a private asset and service our debt, and raise capital to rebuild it post-2020 instead of it being made a public utility #NBN #NBN2

Why is @3AW693 targeting @Telstra about the NBN and how it’ll cope with the increased load on the network. There are other providers of the NBN out there. #sheeple listening will take any slow downs or outages as being Telstra’s fault/problem.

@PaulFletcherMP Paul, I am thankful that my ISP is maintaining its HFC network so that I don’t have to connect to your NBN.

And 3 out of 4 premises are now capable of connecting to the NBN! Well that is at your own risk! It's just more bullshit from government and ISP companies to scam more money from anyone stupid enough to opt for this NBN CRAP!

@Henjam48 @JaneCaro @TonyAbbottMHR @NBN_Australia They’ve been set up to fail. Like most entities that are answerable to govt. The person responsible for it all is JWH. Had Telstra not been sold in the first place, it would have continued to upgrade its network and we may not have needed an NBN on the scale the ALP envisaged.

@angharadyeo unironically yes, the NBN guy will fix it up. My cable was cut off and dangling underneath my house

@setoide @TPG_Telecom NBN sucks. Try @launtel instead. It doesn’t stop NBN sucking but their support team is sympathetic at least.

@Telstra It is constantly described as "network update" on your website. But it is happening EVERY DAY. Was advised it would happen overnight... but now in the middle of the work day without notice. Not much of an update if it means nobody can use the net reliably for 2wks. @NBN_Australia

@NBN_Australia I cannot work from home during lockdown because NBN can only provide a maximum 24mbit over their crappy copper lines. @NBN_Australia It might be time to check to see if you've wasted over $60 billion on a old copper network not fit for purpose and to start again with fibre.

@NBN_Australia Good news! You’ve wasted another day of mine that I do not get paid for. You sent a single tech to do a job that requires a team. You’ve been told what the problem was and yet I get another tech who waived his hands in the air wondering why he has been sent to do a job he cant do

thanks internet it sounds like it is indeed the phone port just way more broken than I've ever seen one and the nbn tech should be able to fix it. so I'm going to Do Nothing and hope it's fine when they turn up 🤠

@Optus we still dont have nbn connection. its a problem in the area. and my point is your network service status page says "No reported outages in this area." thats a lie. false reporting. fix the page up and get me online.

@simonhackett @AussieBroadband I'd like faster upload too (I spend all day connected to AWS EC2 boxes). I also need to issue a correction to @alexbhturnbull as I stated years ago that when NBN replaced my 1990s Optus HFC with another HFC I thought I was doomed to 100 Mbs max forever. Apparently not!
