Zoom yesterday and today is distorting voices and cutting sound, on both Oz and US meetings. For the US interview we had to cut video to improve sound. NBN says all good at my end, so @Zoom, what's happening? Rude to then cut the interview off with a demand for upgrading to pro.

@DavidBe53174057 @PhillipQuirk4 … and this entire “vertical integration” problem was solved during the creation of NBN Co, the benefits which last to this day: You can switch retailer in 1 hour, because the natural monopoly (cables in the ground) is governed by a non-retail operator. 4/4

@SHamiltonian This is great in the cities, but not in US regions. Unlike the US, NBN is forced to service most regional areas, a cross-subsidy we all pay. If this causes perverse outcomes then maybe the Govt should subsidise from budget, not NBN's balance sheet?

@NBN_Australia Technically the problem is not an 'outage' but it is so slow it may as well be an outage. The web page you recommended could be much better and more accurate. Covering 'roadworks' etc. This would save everyone's time - please pass to management!

Telstra rang today. Promised take me thru how to remove a virus from my NBN. I was just settling in for a nice chat & the opportunity to create some cool scam content for my radio show when Ajif hung up on me. So rude. He might ring back later though?

@NBN_Australia I've had no NBN service since Sat morn (6 Aug). Your status page says there is an outage but does not say what the problem is or provide an ETA. Calling TPG doesn't do anything as they refer me back to you because they don't anything either. Neutral Bay NSW. Pls dm

Given the NBN network in my neck of the woods is ancient HFC cables strung between power poles, I'm guessing some dumbarse has put their car into pole, or a idiot overhead truck driver took out the cables.
