@ssharwood @StevePriceMedia @AusTodayListnr I will never forgive them for the NBN, they ruined my potential future. What mattered was when, and we missed our chance. I've still done well but I could have done so much more with the infrastructure to support me.

@DavidBe53174057 @PhillipQuirk4 … and this entire “vertical integration” problem was solved during the creation of NBN Co, the benefits which last to this day: You can switch retailer in 1 hour, because the natural monopoly (cables in the ground) is governed by a non-retail operator. 4/4

@SpinTelAU We've had spintel for 3 months now, in metro Melbourne. We've had at least 1/2 dozen times when internet (NBN) goes down. Each time spintel tells us to contact NBN. Each time there is no outage in our area. Then we have to reset everything via spintel. Terrible company. Avoid!!!

@acccgovau You don’t need to do this. You need to order @NBN_Australia to publish statistics on tx queue discards on their core network interfaces. Any number greater than zero will indicate congestion. They’ll already be measuring those stats, you just need to demand their disclosure.

Given the NBN network in my neck of the woods is ancient HFC cables strung between power poles, I'm guessing some dumbarse has put their car into pole, or a idiot overhead truck driver took out the cables.

@SHamiltonian This is great in the cities, but not in US regions. Unlike the US, NBN is forced to service most regional areas, a cross-subsidy we all pay. If this causes perverse outcomes then maybe the Govt should subsidise from budget, not NBN's balance sheet?
