@recneps51 Thanks. I'd study to improve my chances but my landlord refused to extend the nbn cabling to the house when he built. The reception is terrible so I can't hotspot my phone. If I had internet I would have not only got my Cert 4 Comm Services but I would have a degree in Social Work

  • mistwhisperer selgnorts (@mistwhisperer) reported

@SincDavidson So if by some strange occurrence the satellite system goes down big time, and I know already it will never happen so don't bother, but if it did, say like the NBN drops out every now and then, do we all just scribble IOUs on bits of paper? Or starve?

  • RoelofBoer 𝓡𝓸𝓮𝓵𝓸𝓯 𝓑𝓸𝓮𝓻 (Roy) (@RoelofBoer) reported

@RoadknightThe I have iiNet Ultra Cable WiFi here in Corio. 120+ Meg. The NBN is “No Bloody Network”. It’s not Telstra, it’s the carrier.

  • nickbrne Nick (@nickbrne) reported

@YosephGunz @Optus It’s poor everywhere, same with the NBN They can’t even keep their own servers up Perpetual PPPoE timeouts on and off for quite a while Not to mention it’s nigh impossible to actually contact support, the perpetual redirects to FAQs are so frustrating

  • SOtravia Senzaltro Otravia (@SOtravia) reported

@inquirerdotnet In 2005, highly-leveraged Sun Cellular launches unli call & text promos making a run for the cash cow of Smart & Globe. Big damage to duopoly. By 2007, NBN-ZTE if successful & then commercialized could threaten duopoly. Saboteur Jun Lozada succeeded. Today, PH internet kulelat.

  • Tamworthian1 Norm Dezius (@Tamworthian1) reported

Isn't privatisation a wonderful thing, can't afford electricity, phone service getting dearer all the time, now we have to do everything in the Internet NBN is raising rates, we must be boofheads to allow public assets to be in profit hungry hands

  • zyrorl zyrorl (@zyrorl) reported

@elonmusk I would hazard a guess that also the vast majority of churn from NBN is going to the mobile phone telcos (telstra/optus/vodafone) on 5G, however they're claiming Starlink, which is barely opened here in Australia, as somehow a catastrophic incident to their business model.

  • DamanLangguth I am Immune (@DamanLangguth) reported

@trentyarwood By not having it at all : Conjob owes Australia billions : 5G always going to be better : this was known when he came up with the NBN : spending more in nbn would have made the issue worse

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported

@Matt_Tulk I already have a business plan (for the substantially better SLA on NBN fixing **** when it breaks) and that's not actually that expensive over a retail plan. Enterprise plans (required for free fibre build) though are much more expensive (and require long term commitment).
