@LennaLeprena @Loud_Lass Never say never. But certainly during the operational life of #nbn I can't see #fibretopremises being beaten by anything else. We're currently on HFC (High Frequency Coaxial) & destined for HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial) but delaying as long as possible because of reliability.

  • samf_66 Sam (@samf_66) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia @Optus NBN HFC 6 weeks of daily multiple dropouts. 4 NBN tech visits + 1 Optus & the issue is still not resolved. Optus modem replaced, NTD replaced, F-connectors replaced but tech not permitted check the connection on the street. Farcical!

@NBN_Australia @Optus NBN HFC 6 weeks of daily multiple dropouts. 4 NBN tech visits + 1 Optus & the issue is still not resolved. Optus modem replaced, NTD replaced, F-connectors replaced but tech not permitted to check the connection on the street. Farcical!

@carolduncan @AgPeriUrban Absolutely. We were on deck in Mackay during Cyclone Debbie & even the ABC went down to those worst affected. Phones out for days. Guy walked for kms down a blocked road to tell authorities his village was OK. Frightens me to think how the NBN will affect comms when power is lost

  • jchimselfbigpo2 💧jchimself (@jchimselfbigpo2) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Have been with Telstra since 1972-have not had a problem. Now on NBN, still with Telstra- have low needs - fixed cost $88.00 per month - all local landline & mobile calls free. Suits me down to the ground.

  • sacarlin48 💧Anne Carlin (@sacarlin48) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@gurambae I already use my foxtel cable for the internet (but don't have Foxtel) which is why I'm forced to be with Telstra currently. It will be the same with NBN. Nov is the deadline for me. Having problem choosing a provider

  • LesStonehouse Politic@l Spinner (@LesStonehouse) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

    @Telstra @Optus.. Please help my darling wife I miss her 😢 #auspol #NBN

  • samf_66 Sam (@samf_66) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia Each time a tech comes out they refuse to check the HFC connection on the street. They say they are not allowed to put a ladder against the pole. After 6 visits nothing is wrong internally so it must be the street connection. 15+ dropouts today. Please help!

  • ChrisyG Chris Gillette (@ChrisyG) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

On an up note, the NBN dude turned up today and in shock I sniffled both my way through a bloody nasty head cold and emotion to help him install our HFC line. I just did a speed test, got 36.1 Mbs down / 18.3 Mbs up. Our usual was 5.74 down / 1.14 up. Things are bittersweet.

  • WhiplashUnited Mickey Dee (@WhiplashUnited) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Can’t even watch a five minute video because .@optus is useless. Worse still it’s NBN.I pay $85 month for a failing service. Rort.

  • Tur71e Brett Turville (@Tur71e) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus my 4G broadband at #stafford is so bad. Either that or the @Huawei modem. Not an isolated event. Really question the advertising around super fast 4g. Every night a snail pace speed. #nbn #broadband #nombps #slowinternet

  • glenn_rowe Glenn Rowe (@glenn_rowe) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Telstra AGM sees them complaining about the NBN however their biggest problem should be customer retention. I always have a problem when contacting Telstra, tried to get an esim as a replacement for my physical sim, and I’m asked for a driving lience I don’t have. #esim #NBN

  • neilmaddo10 Neil Maddison (@neilmaddo10) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Trying to get hooked up to @Optus nbn... Monday they said, now it won’t be. Ready for two weeks of arguing like last time. Customer service is not at all important to them.

  • LeithEriksonABF Leith (@LeithEriksonABF) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus NBN is a reoccurring horror movie where you go from one work order to the next with no one able to deliver a completed service. #NBNFAIL

  • TealJesus_ Teal (@TealJesus_) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

this whole no NBN between the hours of 6pm-12am is getting REAL annoying @Telstra How am i supposed to run a livestream with 0.89 upload speeds. 3 days in a row! Y’all are starting to cost me MONEY. And i don’t wanna hear “We understand your frustration” just fix the damn issue

  • JanetGoss JG (@JanetGoss) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@TOOTS69er No. Not yet. Right now the NBN is down. I have no broadband....again.

  • gb7004 greg bradley (@gb7004) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Dear @Optus you are a disgrace, cancel my ADSL as I am signed up to NBN well I would be but still waiting for a modem from you from 10th Oct, rang help desk and Annika CB690949 was going to ring me back in 10/15 minutes 40 minutes.

  • samf_66 Sam (@samf_66) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia The problem is the techs that are sent won’t check the connection on the street. They change something internally for no good reason and report back that the fault is fixed which it is not. I go back to @Optus and the same process happens again.

  • sacarlin48 💧Anne Carlin (@sacarlin48) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

Well it's down to the wire #NBN says we'll be cut off by early November so have to transition. We don't download heaps, occasionally watch Netflix. We have cable so not much will change. Any suggestions folks for a provider #GoldCoast

    @factordex @Telstra @NBN_Australia Holy shit

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • WakeWtfu just me 🏳️‍🌈🌈 (@WakeWtfu) reported

@markhumphries The truth here is this As a developer, we have to pay $800 per unit or house for NBN to be connected We don't install the NBN to the house as it's a connection, landlords don't do that It's NBN that are the issue here

  • BadDogZX chris taylor (@BadDogZX) reported

@NBN_Australia u sux nbn. i have a micro node across the rd from my house yet u connect me to an exchange 1.3km away. my nbn is crap. u sux big

  • jakeyflower Jakey (@jakeyflower) reported

@vodafone fix your fkn nbn network **** just get home after a long day I work I try to relax and what do you know Shitafone network is down

  • moylecroft Matthew Moyle-Croft (@moylecroft) reported

@dwjperry @AmyKendall They made some terrible decisions. Lots of regional towns got the same treatment and now NBN crying about how FW is hard to scale. Also they want to make the alternate options harder. Insane.

  • PoE_fanatic James Smart (he/him) (@PoE_fanatic) reported

@Optus It seems to have rectified itself but I do have this problem from time to time. I've done a traceroute in Windows and the issue seems to be a particular router on the NBN.

  • KothMelinda Melinda Koth (@KothMelinda) reported

@NBN_Australia my nbn is down, nbn knows about it and hasn’t advised me about it… poor form…. Can you please contact me immediately to advise when it will be reconnected as I am trying to run a business. I think it’s been out for 10 days as we have been on holidays

  • FKhnopff Ferdie Khnopff (@FKhnopff) reported

@markhumphries Fed govts not prepared to fully subsidise NBN connections ($billions), or to mandate NBN/minimum speed under universal service guarantee ($billions cost for telco industry). And states won't mandate landlords pay ($billions & way too hard). So tenants/consumers pay. Kiwi is diff.

  • georbear AusValues (@georbear) reported

@marauderlil90 @JesseAddison12 It’s a tough one. Does NBN constitute an essential service to a home when there are other ways to connect to the internet? Does having a connection then oblige the landlord to maintain it? What happens if a tenant wants a more expensive fibre to the home connection?

  • SpaceCobra9 Space Cobra (@SpaceCobra9) reported

@NBN_Australia Load of Shiite. Australia we pay the premium price for garbage quality. When I was in Japan I could download 25 gigs in 5 minutes. Sydney takes 30-45 minutes depending on the time of day.

  • ForTheDucks кคгєภ ๏Ŧ Շคгค ✧ Ⓥ⧖ (@ForTheDucks) reported

@markhumphries In this day & age (yes I'll use this phrase), it should be expected all essential services - including internet/NBN (btw they should be the one & the same but it's not) - should be connected by the owner. Tell me it's not an essential service without using the essential service.
