@sharpy009tv 1/2 Hi there, is your service still currently impacted? During an unplanned outage on the nbn network we keep your service provider up to date on all available updates like estimated restoration times and details of what's being done to fix the outage itself.

@NBN_Australia I would say that, on the whole, we get no notice at all until the internet is out. We didn’t get a warning about the “degraded performance” last night either. NBN needs to step up its game and actually provide a working service.

@phonakins where i live essential energy likes to schedule 8 hour service outages. the backup batteries on the mobile towers and NBN last about 4 hours, landlines have no battery backup at all and fail moment power goes out. result, hundreds of people unable to call 000 and gov. dont care.

@MinhKular @P_bogan @Lee_AnneWalker Also called the mixed tech mess. Don't forget that Abbott wanted the NBN killed, but they couldn't due to the contracts so Turnbull did the next worst thing and destroyed the benefit of the NBN. He was doing as he was told by the party

For all of the hate that Israeli bureaucracy gets, here is my passport story: Yesterday afternoon I decided I needed a passport 1: I googled it, clicked a link on NBN website to the states appointment website, put in my 9 digit ID number (which works for every service in the country) and made an appointment for a passport machine at 10:30 this AM and received a text with all of the details. 2: paid online with the winter discount 3: at 10:00 I realized I was running late so I clicked the link on my phone and switched my appointment to 12:30 4: showed up to the local office at 12:15, walked straight up to the passport machine and waited ~5 min. 5: the machine took my ID, I pressed some buttons, it took my passport picture, the attendant said I’ll receive a text in a month with pickup details Just left. The total process of getting a passport was ~45 minutes (including travel time) and like 50 USD
