They use VPNs to bypass the firewall, otherwise the only SM is the one approved by the government. Censorship is a bad idea all around, but I can absolutely imagine the bigoted wasteland ScoMo would make of our already crap NBN!

I've already escalated this through my ISP several times and had NBN technicians cancel because it's come back on when they've been scheduled, doesn't matter that it's off for days at a time in between. That's my issue.

If you want to go elsewhere in under 12 months you have to pay for the hardware, around $500 I think. Having said that, the service is ok.

Elon has spoken of SpaceX’s new data centre satellite constellation that won’t require water for cooling or electricity. I hated Optus, but I have to say, the NBN box itself never failed in all the years I had it. Will be interested to hear how you go with Starlink
