@Namecheap @sebrem @zuggucker Will do this as fallback, thanks. I'll wait for activation of domain and see if Namecheap can detect the mail address of the handle. If this won't work I'll contact support. All fine. Not urgent.

@Namecheap hi guys, I have a domain that whois is showing as a namecheap customer trying to impersonate one of my customers. Is there any way I can report the domain as a abuser via this way?
-
Anser Leon (@ansWer84) reported
@Namecheap Yeah, thanks, but it is the 4th time in 5 months a namecheap customer attempts phishing on this particular domain and I can't seem to get anywhere with your abuse department.

@Namecheap Almost as funny as the entire support network that is in place and cannot give instant access, you realize it is 2021 and a lot of people utilize the world wide web, and it is a 24 hour 7 day a week thing right? I am really confused as to what fool devised this system...

Paul Lewis (@paullewismoney) reported
Another bunch of crooks is putting about a fake advert using my name and image to promote a crypto-currency. For the avoidance of doubt - I have never bought crypto, never promoted it, and warn people against doing so. It uses a domain bought from @Namecheap please take it down!

@ScamDownUS @Namecheap Your not getting away with this, you took down the wrong site.

@Berryhillj @DanSanchez @Namecheap Your associated comments do imply meaning whether you intend it or not. If I simply state that "I just received the worst service in the world." and then proceed to tag the company that was the source of that, how else should it be interpreted?

Dan Sanchez (BitcoinSchool.com) (@DanSanchez) reported
@NamecheapCEO @Berryhillj @Namecheap Thanks for sharing, is there a social element to the pattern recognition? Often the bad actors dont use the index file of the domain, perhaps including social reports more relevant in the manual checks would accelerate detection.

Marresa Bauman (@marresabauman) reported
@NamecheapCEO your auto-renewal system for Namecheap domains should NOT auto-renew when we do NOT respond to your emails. You should not be charging customers if they do not respond. Your customer service team refuse to refund me my $20.00

@Namecheap @ScamDownUS Hey this man took down the site and it actually gave me what I wanted, please reinstate this site!
-
Richard Kirkendall (@NamecheapCEO) reported
@DanSanchez @Berryhillj @Namecheap Well we go way beyond anything that is being discussed here in terms of pattern recognition for bad actors. We also use use feeds on active and registered domains that may be a threat to take fast action. Part of that is automated.

Matt Hobbs (@TheRealNooshu) reported
@worqas Really don't trust Namecheap, they have a terrible reputation with scam sites. Only as an absolute last resort. Thanks for the suggestion though!
-
Glewme Corp (@GlewmeCorp) reported
@Namecheap So when you find you are done subjecting us to your fraudulent activity, unlock our account so we can migrate to a server we own, and never register with you again

So what do people use for getting domains these days? I know namecheap kind of went down hill when they used that accessibility plugin that made their website suck.

@Namecheap I have, there seems to be a problem between the card company @CapitalOneUK and Namecheap. It seems capitalone cannot remove a fraud alert from the card. A simple tech issue is costing me thousands! @thetimes

Dan Sanchez (BitcoinSchool.com) (@DanSanchez) reported
@NamecheapCEO @Berryhillj @Namecheap Didn't speculate on that, just offering my perspective on how I would solve the issue.
-
Richard Kirkendall (@NamecheapCEO) reported
@Berryhillj @DanSanchez @Namecheap The problem here is that you start first by over simplifying the issue, tag our company and then proceed to point out some basic patterns as if it was something we could easily do to fix the issue and we weren't because you were still getting a smishing text.
