    @PrinceOwems @Namecheap To be clear, the issue was with a 3rd party provider that we use to send our newsletter. None of our own systems or customer accounts where breached. I sent a follow up email to all users that were affected. The domains linked in the original phishing emails were also disabled.

    I suspected Plummer and entered the sent mail and confirmed that it was from Namecheap, so I was never afraid because it is normal and the company always sends us emails. That is why I entered the link and I was reassured. When I entered, the renewal page appeared for me.

    @OnurKocayigit @metaeuropean NameCheap stated they use SendGrid so I would expect a NC user database stored in their SendGrid account or via API in similar fashion. The bad actors would draft the email likely in SendGrid and assign it to a selected DB to send to.

    Hello @Namecheap team, I am the regular customer of @Namecheap but after getting spam and phishing links by data breaches i would be shifting to some other hosting provider. You guys are handing such a big company but can’t even protect customer data how could we trust you now?

    @JaxxArmstrong @thinkverse @Namecheap absolutely not but again it's common practice to use 3rd parties to send email, help desks, even an email system itself. We mostly build our own tools but that wasn't the case here unfortunately.
