@p0welly @Namecheap anonymity is very important, but the tech to enable anonymity *with* accountability has existed for a very long time - I can think of at least two viable X.509-based approaches to this problem, and that's just one of several potential underlying mechanisms

Right. @Namecheap is the most convoluted and customer unfriendly service I have ever used. Chat asked for details we JUST ENTERED & them tells me to wait 10-15 mins. This should not be this complicated people

@p0welly @Namecheap scammers are using them for one simple reason: @Namecheap accept bitcoin/crypto in general as payment. anonymous payments for an anonymous service.

Thinking of sending invoices to companies like @Namecheap who make things unnecessarily complicated then take forever to support. Like we're going on about €60 for my time so far dude and counting...

@NCSC With yourselves naming Namecheap top phishing provider and their clear lack of intent to take down malicious domains are there plans to do anything about this or just let them carry on?

Looking for mailbox recommendations. Currently having issues with Namecheap and doesn't look like the issue can be resolved. Outgoing emails seem to fail with Outlook email addresses. I have three mailbox plans. What I really want is one place for all domains and mailboxes. 1/

@Namecheap Yeah as software developer this is an input sanitization problem and not a problem with my web browser But also as someone who had to enter an address several times until the checkout process liked it, that was also obvious.

Head to head: Namecheap vs Godaddy 1° includes everything I need in the starting package (privacy, dnssec) 2° has support in my language (however I almost prefer livechat.) Maybe safer? Everything is an added service! Hover unfortunately doesn’t support DNSSEC on .art

Currently I have several domains with Namecheap. They are great but they do not support .fi domains. Isn't there a global provider that supports every domain and gives mailboxes? Don't want the faff of setting up and managing my own mail server. 2/

@Namecheap .... what kind of support is this According to our records, your dedicated server has been reset up for another customer. Due to a human mistake, another user was able to purchase your server, even though you were using it for a few days

I've been locked out of my @Namecheap account since October 2020 - and the only way they can verify is via the last 4 on my CC? The support rep reminded me over email that by signing the TOS they could ask for photo id - then ask for it!

@AdaRoseCannon @tabatkins @Namecheap I had to go look up this report...I hope they can do better. I've used NameCheap to register domains for more than a decade and started using their hosting for my small projects a few years ago. They've always been really helpful when I contact support, so I've stuck with them.

@dottechdomains @Namecheap #MyStartinTech A Timex/Sinclair 1000 computer. With a 9 in b&w tv 8k memory expansion pack and a cheap tape recorder. My brother and I would sit with a magnifying glass to type in the programs very carefully, as one bad vibration would crash the computer and wipe it out.

Hey @NameCheap. #AccessiBe is a third party which intercepts and manipulates my data on your site. Deploying the AccessiBe overlay you would be violating EU/UK GDPR regulation. I've had no updated customer terms, I refuse my permission, so please remove it from my experience

@Namecheap I shouldn't get a nondescript 500 error when I type in an address into a field, it should tell me on that page that I've typed something incorrect. I'm saying is having a customer go through a separate FAQ page to handle address in put is just incredibly bad UX y'all
