@NatesDrunkAgain @HBOMaxHelp @lgbeddow This worked for me too. It's the captions. Once I disabled, it worked fine. Then as the show was playing, I tried to turn on captions again, instant crash. Smoking gun. Please publish as a work around, if not already done HBO. This was on Fire TV.

I used to have @hbomax as the worst streaming app UX, however the title has been taken over by @hulu. In this age of streaming everything how do they get away with such a crappy experience? As soon as we are done with Star Trek we move on.

@HBOMaxHelp That did nothing, ironically when you create a new profile it plays in English. MANY are reporting this issue on Twitter this doesn’t make any sense to why it’s happening and the work around fix makes less sense why it works (creating a new HBO MAX profile)

God damn the compression @hbomax uses is horrendous. Blacks in #HouseoftheDragon are purple and green splotches, tons of artifacts. Really inferior to other services. Ruins all the work the cast and crew put in. Waste of DV.

Just watched #HOTD & the vfx compositing looked really bad on our new 65” C2 OLED. I can’t understand why GoT circa 2017 looks like it has better compositing than #HouseOfTheDragon in 2022. @hbomax needs to give HotD more money to fix the embarrassing CGI. #HouseOfTheDragonHBO

@HBOMaxHelp I had to click on “create account”, where all my info was already filled in and the final button wouldn’t respond. After I hit the < button at the top to go back the app opened. I don’t know why it shut me out in the first place, you might want to fix that.

@hbomax @HBOMaxHelp Your ap is trash! I'm one of the unfortunates w/Fire TV, no House of the Dragon for me tonight! Srsly I've never watched anything w/out issue. Ex: recaps play > I lose video. Black screen w/audio only. I have to exit/restart EVERY. TIME. Fix your tech. 🤬

@HBOMaxHelp App only crashes when I try to watch #HouseoftheDragon Tonight. This is unreal. Never happened before. I can watch EVERY other show/movie. “Intro trailer about Hbo max shows, Listen to HOTD Podcast, and then crash!!!” 💥

@hbomax HBOmax (min) is horrible. Failure to launch, crashing mid-show, same many hours after launch (so not a volume/capacity issue). Buggy app, dark screen launch in multiple Westworld episodes this past season, just far lower quality app than you would expect and worst tv app I use.
