@mbmcandrews @HBOMaxHelp It’s the worst feeling in the world, and all you can do is sit back and wait for the angry emails to roll in.

@sashinka14 @SupergirlofSF @hbomax It said integration test, it’s a part of software development when you test components together. Obviously an error in their system.

@fancycwabs @hbomax I work with the HBO Max team and I’m glad to say it wasn’t me. I don’t know who, but I’ve been that guy before (albeit in a much smaller scale) and I don’t envy them their anxiety right now.

@krubner @SnowWolfDesign You posted half your login to @hbomax on a public social media platform when HBO doesn’t offer 2FA or MFA for account protection. Brute forcing your password to gain access to your account would take me *maybe* three or four days max. I would rethink your plan, my friend.

@HBOMaxHelp @QuinnyPig If your access control allows an "intern" to send out emails to your customers in production, it's not the "intern" that needs help.

Joke all you want about @hbomax 's Integration Email #1 being sent out by mistake. But, you gotta hand it to them, their subscriber base just made it a trending topic. You really can't buy that sort of buzz, and it makes people completely ignore the app issues from last week.

@HBOMaxHelp @brianstelter It's only appropriate now that error messages not include "blame {intern's name}" from here on out.

I am reflecting on the integration test I just got from @hbomax and thinking about the worst blunders I’ve made in my career as a Software Engineer. #Developers / #coders / #Engineers what is the worst blunder you’ve ever made at work?

@HBOMaxHelp Nice throwing him under the bus. If an intern could do that then it's your system that is the issue.

@sixwing @hbomax I would love to hire someone who made this kind of mistake. I bet this person improves systematic processes at every organization they work in for the rest of thier life.
-

@ChloeCondon @hbomax And something like this doesn’t happen because one person makes a mistake. If our systems depend on individuals never making mistakes, we’ve got issues! (Speaking as someone who broke a thing in **** last week by making one mistake!)

@HBOMaxHelp If true then at least we know HBO lets interns work on real stuff. HBO, let the intern help figure out how to prevent this for next time; that’s a massive learning opportunity there.

@HBOMaxHelp Having never done an internship, people going "Why were they allowed to do ANYTHING" is bewildering. How would they learn about a system by getting coffee and repeating "synergy" in a boardroom? They didn't send addresses or login info, just a test email. Mistakes happen.
