After 8 years (at this address) I finally cancelled @Foxtel Lots of reasons why but paying increasing amounts of money for crap like Hillsong and Sky News definitely large contributors.

With all of these streaming services (Discovery is launching theirs tomorrow) maybe Foxtel / cable wasn't a bad deal after all. Or pirating. Just do pirating.

@couch_specimen @MrKRudd The issue here is that the government could have given the ABC money to get the rights directly. Instead taxpayer money went to Foxtel to produce the content and then the ABC used taxpayer to buy the broadcast from Foxtel. Taxpayers paid twice. That is the double dip.
