Especially over the years of destiny 2 we keep asking for more transparency and they constantly(and more recent) said they would and work on it. Yet still nothing.

They waited until they decided to end the game before announcing its release. The final update content would have kept the population up. They failed all of us. I hope Sony brings Destiny back in the future.

Brent (@i_am_echel0n) reported@DestinyTheGame This had to happen. My advice is as follows. Most of the changes you've made in Destiny 2 are missteps that need to be corrected. Destiny 1's formula is Coca Cola Classic. D2 in New Coke. Keep the subclasses, transmog and mantling. Everything else can go. No live service bullshit. Go back to the OG subclass trees where tradeoffs existed. Get back to the guns being the focus with true variety. Update your enemy AI and make it dynamic for the love of God. Eververse should not be the focal point for revenue put cool **** in the game to earn that drives engagement. The loop of the game ie the crux of everything is get cool gun from PVE then go into PVP and have fun with it. PVP cannot be an afterthought it's the main hook. Give PVP dedicated servers, I repeat GIVE PVP DEDICATED SERVERS. Make guns grindable to unlock perks sets. The Witness was a mistake retcon it and keep the engagement between the Winnower and the Gardener and this time populate the damn pyramid ships with a new race. Yes that means starting back from the ending of D1 but this time do it right. Treat D2 like a fever dream like Mario 2 and let's pretend it never happened. Call the next game "DESTINY" and never diverge again. Build new things. Do not lean on recycling content outside of things that have to be there for Destiny to be Destiny. Ignore this advice at your own peril.

The budget was probably crazy high too but expecting a horror game not named Resident Evil or The Last of Us to sell 10M copies is an internal issue. The first 3 games in the series as a whole didn’t even reach that number combined. The game was perfect but the expectation that a game that looked like that would appeal to a large audience was dumb.

James - JGOD (@JGODYT) reported@Martyboiiiii @DestinyTheGame I wish I played more D1, only had maybe like 50-100 hours and didnt really understand the gameplay loop back then. By the time D2 had come out, it was very different for me. D3 wouldnt simply be trivialized to the buying the same planets. There are so many learnings from the decade that would improve a 3rd game. Many systems that maybe they committed to in D2 that maybe didnt work. Console limitation (last gen) also created long term issues for the game imo. Still years away even if they already started making it, which is highly unlikely based on how much went into Marathon.

Right now, the servers aren’t even working when Striker is in Escalation as target loot – and we won’t even start on the other Deltas and issues. People have been putting up with a lot for years.
