    @samanthadone @Twitter @TwitterSupport The wording is terrible but it’s actually quite a sensible security decision. 2FA isn’t going anywhere, just SMS based codes are being paywalled. Authentication apps like google Authenticator and Authy will still work as usual. SMS is not secure and subject to multiple exploits.

    @TwitterSupport My account has been suspended since February 3rd. There are many other users having this problem as well. Some users even use fraudulent methods to try to get their accounts back.

    @bart_smith @TwitterSupport Yeah, I was confused why they'd monetize for the lesser-secure 2FA when SMS spoofing is rampant. And then I read this part of the article; They were doing it specifically to counter the SMS's problem! I guess that bars f2p fellows from access, but that won't stop p2w scammers.

    @TwitterSupport Then how about existing accounts who enable the method? Especially accounts that get locked because the users aren't receiving the code? Will the feature be removed automatically and they can login without it?
