@NeerajSihag18 @AlyssaRowan Facebook (and Telegram’s secret chat protocol) isn’t open source though and Signal is fully open source. Being open to the public makes it easier/faster for bugs and issues to be found/fixed. No doubt Telegram has great features and transparency tho which I really appreciate.

Also, the premise of the story is wrong: Toxic group chats are not encrypted on Telegram, so this is not a real issue. If these idiots are stupid enough to plan the next insurrection in a Telegram group chat, they will be caught easily.

@naveen_npk @telegram Hi naveen, Go to "Notification and Sounds" in "settings" section. If you scroll down, you can find "events" section. There is an option to disable the notifications for contacts joined in #Telegram. Hope I given the solution. :-)

@Snowden @signalapp That seems a little offensive towards @telegram given that its founder has funded the service so far by himself and not by selling user data. In general, I think people are more concerned if their data is sold (WhatsApp does) as opposed to if government has a possible access.

@kevincollier same thing happened when telegram was down, it happened in evening in US, so we had to wait until Signal admin will wake up, completely unreliable service, same with message delivery

@SKeshel I have telegram and gab. I have had issues getting gab to load at times . . . Sure it is because they are overloaded. I like their format better. Telegram is ok. Can't really pick a favorite though . . . Not enough experience with either one yet.

@wiredfire @signalapp No one said it's an issue for onboarding. It's an issue for retaining especially when there is issues with notifications. I understand these are growing pains and I'm still on it. but for the masses it could be an issue that telegram for one has solutions.
