There was a joke a LONGG while back on windo about a radio station, but i genuinely kinda want to see about making an online radio service. Something that old itunes can connect too, at least. But i feel like the amount of people who'd actually use it.. Low. but it could be fun!

While we wait for @MariahCarey and her team to fix the iTunes issue (listed as an album instead of a single which is why is not appearing on any charts and people can't find it) #TypeDangerous, be sure you grab your copy of the single on Amazon! @MariahAlerts

False. Music “purchased” through iTunes, you’re not buying the music itself, you’re buying a license to use the music. While it has the illusion of ownership, you don’t actually own it, ie you need to sign in and authorize your computer for the music files to work, you are limited to burning the songs to disc 7 times total, songs not downloaded or backed up can disappear if the content right holders pull their license with Apple, not allowed to sell or trade or anything beyond personal use with the music, etc.

@MaccabiTrader @psac_afpc They also in the same call offer to clean my air-ducts and help with my windows licences. This is a marked improvement in service! The only catch is that they ask me to buy iTunes gift cards from my local Wallgreens requiring an international border crossing.

Question: Has anyone else experience this issue with their iPod 2nd gen? I had GreenPoisi0n install a new firmware on my device, and now it won't connect to the iTunes store or any other applications. It says "ipod 2nd gen not connected to the network" and "error 1234". Help!

@Mangalawyer Don't expect Microsoft to do better on PC. Oh, wait—they are never better at all. Even I can not be sure if it is Microsoft or Apple's problem with iTunes being unable to code CD songs into iPhones.

@SphynxterRisen2 I have a plex server but I like getting 4K HDR and sometimes even 3D movies (for Vision Pro) so I usually just buy movies dirt cheap on sale. My iTunes library has been running since the iPod days and I have hundreds of movies

@ibuildthecloud Stuff like the Newton is the obvious counterexample, but for a more modern example -- iTunes was apocalyptically bad for a very long time. For a more spicy take -- the iPhone was basically a toy until iPhone 5 (or 4, if you ignore the reception issues). A very Vista/7 dynamic.

My speaker jack is doing that thing where it opens up iTunes without you asking it to and yesterday it did it while I was giving a presentation. I'm fast now tho so shut it down while it was still in the first bell of Hell's Bells. 🫢

$SPOT Think back to when Spotify was just that small music app fighting against iTunes and trying to make streaming a thing. Fast forward to now, and they've built this massive platform with close to 700 million users. The wild part? All those risky moves they made with podcasts, AI, and ads are actually working out. They're not content being just a music service anymore. Spotify wants to dominate everything you listen to, and they're making it happen. Their latest move with AI-powered advertising is pretty smart—small businesses can now create their own ads without breaking the bank. That means more revenue coming in beyond what we pay for Premium. What strikes me most is how devoted their users are. While $AAPL and $AMZN treat music like just another feature in their massive ecosystems, Spotify really nails the personal touch. Their recommendations feel like they're reading your mind, and they actually support creators in meaningful ways. That's why people stick around, especially the younger crowd that discovered music through the app. The tech giants are still trying to muscle in, and ad revenue isn't always predictable, but Spotify's position is way stronger—debt-free with solid cash flow.
