  @OCT0POSS3 I just feel bad that out of all places, Dana pitched to Glitch. After being burnt out by Disney butchering TOH, she goes to the "indie" equivalent that's basically doing the exact same ****. They might just drop the ball in favor of Newgrounds gooner projects (they already do)

  @fewerwrong @DamirWallener The tech ALMOST isn’t the problem in 2026, design and privacy are the problem. Can’t be a battle bot. Can’t be a phone-home bot. Should be an unthreatening bot. They should’ve gotten licenses from Disney. And at home, privacy means physical privacy, not just a privacy policy.

  Warning: animation wonk post ahead… In animation, camera placement/movement and much of cinematography is traditionally handled by a department called Layout. The title comes from the old Disney days when they would lay out the 2D backgrounds and the characters/props in the transition from storyboards to final shots. But in the world of CG animation, the term is confusing. The job is analogous to a live-action camera department: you’re picking lenses, designing shots in a virtual space. Many talented young tech-savvy filmmakers or cinematographers might like the opportunity to work on the camera team of an animated film and get experience telling story with camera, but don’t even know the job exists - and the term “Layout” isn’t helping: it sounds like you’re doing spreadsheets or something, not essential creative work. Because of this, on Spider-Verse, we have changed the name to the Camera Department. I encourage other films and studios to do the same. It’s more respectful of the talented people who do this work and lets them say to their friends that they’re part of the camera team on a movie rather than the layout team, which means nothing to an outsider.

Everyone talks about NVIDIA. Few people ask where all that electricity will come from. AI data centers need enormous amounts of reliable power. As electricity demand grows, hydrogen could become one of several technologies helping fill the gap—especially where diesel generators are being replaced. ⸻ Wall Street is still cautious. ATB Cormark maintained a Hold rating while raising its price target to $5.25. The market wants proof that hydrogen adoption can accelerate. That’s understandable. This industry has promised a lot over the years. Now it has to deliver. ⸻ The long-term takeaway The story isn’t simply about fuel cells anymore. It’s about building an ecosystem. Sometimes the companies that win aren’t those with the best product. They’re the ones that remove the biggest obstacle preventing the industry from growing. Ballard is betting that the future of hydrogen isn’t just about making better fuel cells. It’s about making hydrogen easier to use. If that strategy works, today’s acquisition may eventually be remembered as a turning point—not because it made Ballard bigger, but because it made hydrogen more practical.

  I LOVE those movies....and looking back I think the reason why those work- 1) They remember that these are still DISNEY films which are based on CARTOONS and so they CAN have leeway to cartoonish situations in the movie (the whole rescue bit) 2) The actors they-

  @NotAmberBerries @skymagpie @lunaire_rndm most people on the far-left also despise disney, it's a pretty bipartisan issue really. except one hates it because they think it's woke and the other hates it because it's not woke and as a company it's the peak of capitalism and how it stifles actual creativity
