But: anyone can issue tokens on the XRPL. As far as I know Etoro and others don't issue on the XRPL.

Arturo Portilla (@Arturo_P_A) reported@MikeNardolillo @XRP_stuart @JohnEDeaton1 The difference here is that Bitstamp didn't enter into an agreement with Ripple in order to issue their USD IOUs. They can use the XRPL independently without signing a single agreement; this isn't the case with ODL.

Yeshua Taylor (@TaylorYeshua) reported@stoicandskeptic @CryptoKilljoy @digitalassetbuy I used bitstamp when I lived in Hawaii because CB and other exchanges were told they had to have 100% fiat reserves for all crypto held on the exchange by the exchange and by customers. Volume of customers was coinbase problem...not fiat. I lived in Hawaii for 14 years. Have you?

USDT will go below. all coins will pump. people escape into BTC/ETH/..., send funds to coinbase/kraken/bitstamp "real fiat" exchanges and then sell btc/eth/... so it could lead to crazy volatility and tether going slowly down.
