  • ClarkGreenaway Clark Greenaway🇦🇺 (@ClarkGreenaway) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@theoztrucker The subs don't make a lot of sense and the NBN was always a disaster, a Rolls Royce limo instead of a bus service. The Snowy I don't know, seems to make sense. The fighter aircraft are necessary but not themselves. They are for reasons no one wants to voice.

  • ClarkGreenaway Clark Greenaway🇦🇺 (@ClarkGreenaway) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@toadmeister @guardian Sorry Toby, you are being mislead by the Guardian as usual. Netflix states you need 5Mbs for HD quality viewing. Every Australian on the NBN has at least 10Mbs connection. The ALP stated the NBN would cost $40 billion dollars not $15 and it was never going to happen for that.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

    @NBN_Australia @UncleAl60932514 Tweak plans = poor Project management = ad-hoc mess. #nbn

  • ClarkGreenaway Clark Greenaway🇦🇺 (@ClarkGreenaway) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@BawdenSnoek I don't mind, sometimes I hang on until I get a real person after such calls about Telstra or NBN. Then I call them thieves and liars until they hang up.

  • Elias_Hallaj 💧 Elias Hallaj (@Elias_Hallaj) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Australia is drowning, rather than surfing, thanks to ScoMo’s LNP. “... after spending $51 billion on a second-rate obsolete network the Coalition government’s plan for the NBN has been a total failure”. #AusPol

  • garydlum Gaz 🖖 (@garydlum) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@benny_132 @horrorfan4129 @Telstra Thanks. I've been waiting on hold. I will hang up and get on with my day. I feel sorry for people relying on #nbn for their livelihood when these things happen.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@peter_c_william @RichardTuffin @NBN_Australia Project Management failure at all levels. Including piss poor contractor management. You could have the best tools available (aka Engineers) and still use them incorrectly...#nbn

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@peter_c_william @NickRossTech Wonder if he actually engages with the key stakeholders - ie The Australian Public! #nbn So over @NBN_Australia pathetic excuses and covering for the poor decisions of the last 7 years. No wonder many jumped ship when the cards were on the table

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Quote from @NBN_Australia" One of the challenges nbn has identified are premises that are located too far away from existing nbn™ network assets- Fibre to the Node Cabinet (typically where copper lines exceed 1.3km)" Talk about a no #nbn shit statement

  • trib Stephen Collins (@trib) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@paulestorey @NBN_Australia I'll be on FTTC, so I'm hopeful. Congestion shouldn't be an issue.

  • TheGrumpyGamer1 The Grumpy Gamer (@TheGrumpyGamer1) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

I cannot wait till our NBN connection goes live!!! Hopefully only a few more weeks of this crap. And if anyone wants to share this with The Signal Co, go nuts, cause apparently I’m a rude and difficult to deal with, so they’ve blocked me on Twitter!

  • TravGee1980 Travis (@TravGee1980) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

.@HankJongen @Telstra uses this technology. I have made 19 calls to them since August 2018 about reconnecting our work landline and cancelling #NBN They have a record of 3. This is not about improving customer service. It's about compliance & surveillance. #Auspol #Satanlink

  • AlexDunnin alex dunnin (@AlexDunnin) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@DendyCanberra big problems with the movie system tonite. It’s like they’re streaming it thru a dodgy NBN connection and the buffering is on dial-up. So bad they’ve just rebooted the system. Extraordinary.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@NBN_Australia @naomi_t_81 Honestly after you add up all the work required to retrofit the last 1000m of old Telstra phone cabling and fixing issues with customer cabling it becomes much more expensive than the original project scope of fibre to 93% without the constant maintenance bill #nbn

  • Ctl_Alt_Del CtlAltDel (@Ctl_Alt_Del) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

    Crap NBN #PromiseOfAustralia

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

    @jakegriffiths @NBN_Australia @SenatorFifield @MRowlandMP @AUSenator Only three weeks ago you say - consistency is pretty bad from @NBN_Australia #NotSurprised #ausvotes

  • Mirandaprorsus Allan Behm (@Mirandaprorsus) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews Have endured weeks of very slow NBN speed, < 6 Mbps. The techo came, opened the Telstra pit to find 60 yr old copper encased in lead, and broken wires. So much for Tinkering Turnbull’s fibre to the node.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Guarantee #NBN have the latency and packet loss data on its microwave links. They have it @AUSenator . It's basic Network management

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

HFC is a black hole - you can't model a national communications network off what a commerical entity has done overseas #nbn There objective is to keep it above water.

  • ClarkGreenaway Clark Greenaway🇦🇺 (@ClarkGreenaway) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@StevensAsh @DavidSo24895212 Yes Labor did say $41b to build their gold plated NBN. Of course they never built it so we don't know how much it really would have cost. The LNP version was cheaper yet has cost a lot more. I'm certain if Labor had built their version it would have been over $100B.

  • drdavebond David Bond (@drdavebond) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@RodericChambers I think they must have the #NBN here, the network is somewhat slow

  • DesignLindsay Christian Lindsay (@DesignLindsay) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@NBN_Australia I rely on the internet for my design business The lack of reliable service puts my income and ability to service customers at risk I'd appreciate a plan to fix the issue. One obvious step is to relocate to a closer pit

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@DonWestley1 @TheCalebBond @theMickMorris @SkyNewsAust @Foxtel Yep, you will probably find I have tweeted that video a few times already ;) It must be tricky to do a story for SkyNews on the #NBN without loosing you job by blaming the Libs - words were carefully chosen to make the entire NBN concept look bad...it's not, obviously.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

How can #NBN claim its own last mile design doco for Fttx is CiC (CommercialInConfidence).Half of it has been leaked already & who else is going to build out a national network in Australia 🤔 Playing hard ball with FOI constantly, need a big stick. @NBN_Australia @OAICgov

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Hey @Kynes3 - your notification announcement time and customer service is better than @NBN_Australia - posted 48 mins ago

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@delpjm @sando88 @Snow_Crash @WirelessDuck @NickRossTech @NickITGuy @Kynes3 @boyter @playswithf1re @BrowntownBrew And the lower density and further reach requirements for Australia is the REASON to use last mile deep fibre networks. If I had a dollar everytime I had to defend that stupid excuse ...#nbn

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Poor capacity management at the #nbn drop in tent at #CanberraShow by @NBN_Australia - already out of #StressBalls Totally devo 🤣😂😂😂 Not surprised that NBN keeps on disappointing

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@czuio @NBN_Australia @Deborah_ONeill I could see no reason why it couldn't for exactly the point you make. You could also simplify it and include a UNI-V like port for a voice service (VoDSL) and a simple diagnostic page to indicate line sync etc. @NBN_Australia need to consolidate the end point to simplify it

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@sulrich70 @NBN_Australia @Deborah_ONeill If @NBN_Australia took a more risk managed approach with MTM design they should have gone with a connection agnostic endpoint. It would solve so many of this issues with renters and those that move around. Once again KISS was ignored #nbn

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@NerdyNigel @AfraidOfWidths @SenatorFifield @SteveAustinABC @AUSenator @TurnbullMalcolm @NBN_Australia Maybe he is one of the 5% with a dodgy modem 😂🤣 - suspect the Modem firmware is the least of @NBN_Australia problems, but I bet they spent a shitload of resources to come to the same conclusion we have had for the last 7 years.. that MTM will burn money in maintaince. #nbn

  • TVofCarringbush Trivalve (@TVofCarringbush) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@CharlieKeegan1 @masonsixtencox Maybe they should get a few kegs and fix the NBN while they're at it!

  • Colincopeland2 Col Copeland (@Colincopeland2) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@MConallin I use mobile bb lte. That speeds are fast butt but no consistent. I average around the 20-30gbs Some times up to 170mbs down. I don't have nbn or adsl, so I'm not complaining

  • RossStewart14 🇦🇺Ross (@RossStewart14) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@Floatdownriver I get this call roughly every second day. It is a computer generated voice and it's a #SCAM .I've had NBN for about 2 years. Just hang up.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

If I was NZ I would do the same thing! Rub our lazy Au Netflix binging faces in the fact we settled for a third rate access network #nbn @MRowlandMP @SenatorFifield @AUSenator

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@KyeNM @czuio @MargMcCrohon @TurnbullMalcolm And the graph also demonstrates the huge difference in costs from doing an ad-hoc per user base install vs a standardised and rinse & repeat install. Problem with #NBN FttC implementation is too many variables and unknowns.

  • inxanadudid Ian McKay (@inxanadudid) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@BellaFlokarti @TonyAbbottMHR Agree. Posted this earlier. Punishing & straightening that’s all you know. And breaking. Like you broke NBN, Gonski, Centrelink, NDIS. Punishing, straightening, breaking; what a horrid legacy. Labor has policies vision fairness empathy (look it up) & hope You will not be missed

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

From the beginning the #nbn passively designed optical network aggregate and manage a lot more bandwidth & are significantly cheaper to maintain, the technology with the lowest OPEX will win this war... I know what I will be betting on. #fibre @NBN_Australia @MRowlandMP

  • ChrisMac1270 Chris Mac (@ChrisMac1270) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@MikeCarlton01 So Tone and Malcolm’s sandbagging of @Foxtel by screwing the @NBN_Australia worked a treat, then...

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@BradLifestyle @NBN_Australia @SenatorFifield It sucks when people like yourself that understand what Bandwidth would do to your life are stuck on long lines...that should be reserved for the likes of @TurnbullMalcolm and @SenatorFifield and entire @NBN_Australia management

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

As a nation when we accepted a cheaper NBN solution we waived the rights or expectation for any remediation or change in the copper topology pathways. It wasn't all about fibre vs copper and fast internet. It was a chance to tweak, realign, change it for the next 100 years.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@willie1foot @s_elliott79 @deniseshrivell @NickRossTech @RobOakeshott1 @NBN_Australia @DCoopes It's down to the actual physical footprint of FttC DPU hardware vs skinny fibre tech within pits. In many brownfield ADAs fibre access networks would have been more cost effective and simpler to install. Once the fibre in the pit can fill with mud, fibre don't care #nbn

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@BrowntownBrew @NBN_Australia Tell me something I don't know :P . This is the problem having all your sensitive active electronics in the field as stated multiple times. Robust and redundant fibre loops are the key to this equation. I'm not even sure why they need such as application...

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@jtparker72 @iiNet @TPG_Telecom Not with @iiNet by choice, sticking with their own FttN network in Canberra (Transact) for various reasons. But #NBN and alternate RSP is also a possible and if they don't take it seriously and increase performance, tiers, and customer service I'm looking for an alternative.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

I've raised factual errors with you and your department, yet I'm ignored. Wish I could fire you for some real incompetent and bullying behaviour. I would toss you out the building myself @SenatorFifield @ScottMorrisonMP #nbn #WakeUpAustralia

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@LordSoth123 Just like flipping a light switch, shame the same cannot be said for the @NBN_Australia access network ... #nbn

  • DrRobertCare Dr Robert F Care ? (@DrRobertCare) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

How can the Luberal Goverment allow that. Reception will be crap thanks to Turnbull’s crap NBN but really Morrison should protect us.

  • isikcaner Isik Caner (@isikcaner) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@MyRepublicAU is there an issue with NBN services in Canberra? Haven't had NBN since this morning. Suburb is Harrison, 2914.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Hate to think the epic waste of time and money that is being spent to hook up homes to this second rate and inconsistent FttN network #NBN . The overtime must be very nice.

  • Technorants Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

It pains me so to hook up a new aerial copper lead-in for the @NBN_Australia "NBN" - but as they say, know your enemy. The other leadin is part of the iiNet Transact, which is a FttN parallel network. It has taken at least three techs and 2 weeks for this basic task...

  • samguthrie91 Samuel Guthrie (@samguthrie91) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Watching #AllIreland Hurling in Canberra. The #nbn can't even support 256kbs...

@warnie1aus Oh...the make up doesnt work like that mostly here....just a bunch of clowns....lol...We also have an nbn tower on the farm...7 metres by 7....they charge rates for it at the same rating as hundreds of acres....#NewYorkMafia

  • Alric181 Alric18 (@Alric181) reported

@NBN_Australia They are lagging because of the atrocious nbn outages that keeps happening (service provided was notified, stop passing the buck). I regret moving to nbn 1 month ago- 3 outages so far... only 1 outage with my reliable adsl in 10 years

  • Alric181 Alric18 (@Alric181) reported

@NBN_Australia Unbelievable, 3 outages in 1 month!!! I had 1 outage in 10 years with ADSL2. Simply unacceptable (Yes, my service provider has been contacted, it is nbn network outage)

  • AUSFestivus It's dogs all the way down (@AUSFestivus) reported

@NBN_Australia If your techs drive to the addresses Ive provided and cannot locate the fault then they should be fired. Out of a canon. Into the sun. If the org is so broken that it cannot handle a simple public safety report then I hope everyone responsible is named at a royal commission.

  • MadJrnyMan MadJrnyMan 🇾🇪🇱🇧🇦🇺 (@MadJrnyMan) reported

@Telstra you're nbn service is a joke. You promise to provide a service that you clearly can't or don't and expect customers to pay a premium. I've been on the phone with incompetent support staff for 32 mins who don't know how to deal with the situation.

  • pellers Jason Pellegrino (@pellers) reported

@hughewilliams @NBN_Australia Fight between existing and new provider over who should repair broken socket and then couldn't reconnect anyway as my service had been terminated. All that for a service that costs 20% more and 10% slower than what I had.

  • bozwhite Boz (@bozwhite) reported

@DeanRosario As first NBN guy they sent couldn't fit under the house. 2nd had to cancel with family health. 3rd time as I help with Powerchair football on Saturdays, NBN said we will come Saturday, cancelled (but their system down) and they stil turned up. Waiting for 5g to get released

  • pellers Jason Pellegrino (@pellers) reported

@hughewilliams @NBN_Australia Don't get me started. Took me 6 weeks to switch. Booked, attended, unplugged and then realized the whole street wasn't transitioned to the NBN yet, so just left. I couldn't reconnect to existing provider as they broke the socket. Can't call NBN to fix or discuss issue [1/2]

  • AndrewBennett07 Andrew Bennett (@AndrewBennett07) reported

@NBN_Australia @theREALwelbot Stop using “Hey” your talking to a Customer, not some random friend!

  • AndrewBennett07 Andrew Bennett (@AndrewBennett07) reported

@bmccoy4 @NBN_Australia We, as Australians would have to be the stupidest people on earth to think $70+ Billion Dollars spent on the @NBN_Australia for the ridiculously slow speeds. Talk about a white Elephant!
